"What are RSS feeds?"
"RSS" stands for "Really Simple Syndication," and it IS simple!
This free service lets you find out when your favorite sites are updated with new content, without having to visit each website individually. You do not have to "register" or give your private information to a site in order to receive RSS feeds from it. You can check for news as often, or as rarely, as you wish.
How
to use RSS:
- Download a free program on your computer
FeedReader, Bloglines or Google Reader offer free RSS software.
Firefox users can use RSS feeds very easily (see instructions)
- Supply the Internet address (URL) of your favorite website
Your new RSS sofware needs to know which websites you want it to skim for news. Ananda's RSS feed address is:
http://www.ananda.org/feeds/main.xml
- You are ready to receive your RSS feeds!
Open your new RSS software. It will let you know if your favorite website has something new.
We also offer Podcasts
